Claude Skills: Give Your AI Assistant Marketing Super Powers
Antropic now lets you create skills for your Claude assistant. Don't just prompt Claude; teach it world-class marketing skills.
Claude just dropped one of the best AI updates of the year; get ready to give your AI assistant world-class marketing skills.
Until now, you’ve had to rely on prompts to make your AI behave like an expert. But with Claude Skills, you can actually teach your Claude assistant world-class capabilities, and it can decide when to use them.
It’s the difference between a smart marketing intern and a seasoned marketer who already knows what to do.
You give Claude your best frameworks and skills for analysis, competitive insights, writing hooks, and problem-solving, and Claude will automatically use them when relevant.
You’re no longer just prompting Claude. You’re training it to work like you.
In this post, I’ll give you three world-class marketing skills to instantly give your Claude AI assistant an upgrade.
What are Claude Skills?
Claude Skills are small, self-contained instruction files (called skill.md) that teach your Claude AI how to perform specific expert tasks.
Think of them like “custom brains” you can plug into your assistant:
A Hook Creator skill that writes FOMO-driven headlines using proven frameworks.
A Problem Solver skill that diagnoses your bottlenecks and reframes the solution.
A Deck Designer skill that knows your brand’s style and layout rules.
Once uploaded, Claude can automatically select the right skill based on your request; no need to tell it which one to use. It’s like giving it muscle memory.
Creating one is simple:
1. You’ll craft a prompt that can teach Claude how to execute a skill
2. Ask Claude to convert that prompt into a skill
3. Save the output as skill.md, zip up, and upload it under Capabilities → Skills.
4. Done. Claude now knows how to execute that skill and will apply it whenever it recognizes the task.
You can give Claude as many of these as you want.

3 Marketing Skills for your Claude Assistant
The following skills will give your Claude AI assistant the ability to create buyer persona’s, do competitive intelligence and give you content ideas for LinkedIn.
1. Customer Persona Intelligence Builder
What It Does
This skill turns Claude into a skilled audience researcher; it builds research-backed, deeply human buyer personas in minutes. Instead of filling in a generic template, Claude synthesizes real-world data: demographics, psychographics, motivations, jobs-to-be-done, and buying behavior. The result is a living customer profile that actually drives smarter marketing decisions.
Why It Matters
Most marketers build personas once and forget them. They’re too shallow, too outdated, and too disconnected from how people actually buy.
This skill fixes that. It gives you a dynamic, AI-generated ICP that updates as markets change; grounded in real research, not guesswork.
That means:
You can tailor campaigns or content directly for this persona e.g. upload this when using AI to craft campaign/content for the persona.
You can generate messaging, hooks, and creative angles that match customer psychology.
You can align your team around a single source of truth for who you’re selling to and why they buy.
How to Use This Skill
a. Give Claude two inputs:
Your target customer type (e.g., “B2B marketing managers at SaaS companies”).
What you’re selling (e.g., “Marketing automation platform for B2B companies”).
b. Run the skill. Claude will research, synthesize, and build a full persona doc, complete with motivations, fears, objections, channels, and messaging cues.
c. Activate it across everything. Once created, this persona becomes a reference point for all future Claude tasks; whether you’re writing ads, mapping a customer journey, or brainstorming product positioning.

2. Competitive Positioning Analyser
What It Does
Turn your Claude AI assistant into a market analyst that maps your competitive landscape end-to-end. It includes your positioning, the top 4 real competitors, their messaging, pricing, features, GTM, and then surfaces white space you can own with clear positioning plays.
Why It Matters
Competitor research is very time-consuming. This skill can run a comprehensive research process for any company you give it. You get recommendations to help you with positioning, roadmap, and sales battlecards.
How to Use It
a. Give Claude one input: your company name or URL.
b. Run the skill. It will:
Parse your site to understand product, value props, and target segment.
Identify exactly four live, relevant competitors.
Deep-dive each across messaging, features, pricing, channels, and recent moves.

3. LinkedIn Content Ideation Engine
What It Does
Get ideas for your LinkedIn content. Give it a target audience and it returns 3 platform-native post ideas tailored for LinkedIn’s algorithm. It comes with hooks, outlines, format specs (text vs. carousel vs. video), and why each idea will perform. The skill will scan external research to find relevant topics, news, and trends to craft content around.
Why It Matters
Most LinkedIn ideas miss because they’re generic, not audience-specific, and ignore how the feed actually distributes reach. The skill includes specific criteria from the LinkedIn algorithm like dwell time, comments, saves, and profile-click mechanics, plus the psychology that gets your ICP to stop scrolling: curiosity gaps, identity signalling, data surprise, and clear practical value.
Outcome: fewer posts, bigger impact.
How to Use It
a. Provide one input: your target audience (e.g., “B2B marketing managers,” “Series A SaaS founders”).
b. Run the skill. It will:
Decide whether trend research adds value (and do it when useful).
Map pain points, goals, and engagement patterns for that audience.
Produce exactly 3 distinct ideas with hooks, outlines, format, and CTAs.
c. Pick and post: Choose one idea, draft from the outline, keep the hook above the fold, and publish. Repurpose the other two across the week (carousel, video, or poll).
Input
Target audience on LinkedIn (required).
