The 'AI Fatigue'
You’re not the only person who’s overwhelmed by the pace of AI.
This is going to be a slightly different post than my normal weekly sends. I was having a conversation with someone recently when they stopped mid-sentence and said:
“I’m totally overwhelmed by AI. I know you wouldn’t understand, but it’s how I feel.”
I do understand. Everyone working in the industry is overwhelmed. No matter what they’re posting about on Substack, on LinkedIn, on X, they are likely overwhelmed by AI. Their eyes are likely burning trying to keep up with all of the latest AI launches, tutorials, and hot takes.
My full-time job is AI
I have a popular Substack on AI.
I have a popular YouTube channel on AI.
I do pre-seed and seed stage investing in AI.
I provide limited advisory services to AI-native companies.
I spend a lot of time building systems in Claude Code
You get it, I do a lot of AI, like all of you.
AND
I get super overwhelmed by AI. I call it ‘the AI exhaustion’ loop. It happens at different points throughout the week. Like, my vision starts to blur as I’m context-switching between 5 agents and trying to keep up with the 10th ‘INSANE’ AI launch of the week.
No one is immune to feeling overwhelmed by AI.
I talked with a founder recently, who is literally the founder of an AI startup. He followed some of my stuff on Claude Code and said he had FOMO as he wanted to replicate some of the systems i’ve built, but he had no time.
No one feels like they have the time to keep up; everyone has FOMO. Everyone feels there is an abundance of opportunity and no time to do it all.
What I think is happening is this U-curve of AI productivity.
People are struggling to find time for their daily work and to scale their AI knowledge. There isn’t an easy answer to this. To me, there is a lot of personal choice. AI is all-consuming. And relying on your company to provide time for you to scale up your AI knowledge isn’t a good strategy. You have to decide if it’s worth doing evenings and weekends because AI is integral to the future version of the life you’re building.
I’d say, before you feel the urge to click on that next LinkedIn post promising a new Claude Code system, delving into another AI tutorial on YouTube, or loading up the latest podcast, know that there is an infinite amount of stuff you can learn about AI, and a finite amount of time.
Focus, focus, focus.

AI has another issue - It’s not always the pace, it’s the overhype and sensationalism nature of AI
Never knew I had ADHD until AI came around
