Use Claude Code to Reverse-Engineer Winning Content. Never Miss!
One Claude Code skill that analyses your posts, finds the patterns, and generates endless content ideas for high performing content.
My entire life is now spent in a Claude Code CLI. I’ve just finished building my AI Content Team, which can research, plan, write, and improve content across LinkedIn, newsletter, and X (adding YouTube).
I say finished, but working with Claude Code is different. You’re never done. You’re constantly improving.
I’m publishing the full Content Team next week. But for now, I wanted to give you this one skill that’s really useful.
Here’s the full system:
Today, we’re going to cover the “Lookalike Content Skill”. You give it a dump of your existing content (Substack posts, LinkedIn posts, blog articles, whatever you have), and it does three things:
Analyses your content for patterns — what topics, structures, hooks, emotional registers, and formats recur in your best work
Creates a Winning Content Profile — a document that captures your content DNA
Generates 10 new content ideas that match those patterns — using live research from Perplexity to find trending topics that fit your winning formula
I tested it on my own Substack, giving it 57 posts.
How It Works: Three Phases
Phase 1: Analyse Your Content
Upload your content in any format e.g. Substack HTML export, CSV, JSON, whatever mess you have. The skill converts it into a clean dataset and analyses every post across seven dimensions: topics, structure, hooks, emotional register, format, closes, and specificity.
If you have engagement data, it ranks by performance and focuses on the top 30%. If you don’t, it analyses everything for recurring patterns.
I threw 51 of my Substack posts at it and it will organise into a single .md file making it much easier for the following steps.
Phase 2: Create Your Winning Content Profile
The skill synthesises the analysis into a Winning Content Profile, a document that captures your content DNA.
Here’s what it found for my Substack (can’t show the full profile, it’s too long)
Phase 3: Generate 10 Matching Ideas
The skill takes your Winning Content Profile, uses Perplexity to research what’s trending in your space, and filters everything through your winning patterns.
Each idea comes with: a title, why it matches your patterns, a suggested angle, a draft hook, and what trending signal makes it timely.
Not random brainstorming. Ideas that match your proven content DNA and current market conversations. The ideas it gives you back are so good.

What’s Coming Next
This is one piece of a much larger system. I’ll be sharing the full AI Content Team over the coming week (next week), audience profiling, style analysis, LinkedIn/newsletter/X drafters with iteration loops, and a feedback system that tracks performance so the content gets smarter every month.
My main struggle is trying to figure out how to share the system given there is so many different parts :)
Until Next Time,
Happy AI’fying
Kieran
