Why Marketers Need to Master Persuasion and Prioritization

We get into the art of persuasion, and why all marketers should invest time into learning both copywriting and sales. We give some of the best resources and methods to get started.

We also discuss why prioritization is such a critical skill, why the best leaders need to make tough choices and how teams can rally around priorities even if they disagree on what they are.

The skills that we celebrate publically are things like – data, SEO, brand, advertising.

But, what about the most under-valued skills that the best marketers excel at? The ones that don’t get as many mentions?

We suggested two skills great marketers possess but are often under-valued:

1. Persuasion (copywriting and sales): even if not writing or selling in your job, you should invest in studying persuasion, you’ll lean into those skills every day.

We discuss why you would do that, and how to get started.

2. Prioritization: sounds boring right? But the best marketing leaders are those who say no to things and over-revest in a couple of things. One of the hardest things to do is saying no to opportunities, and being laser-focused on those you feel matter.

We discuss why prioritization is so important, and give examples of where it matters most.
